I HEART Marcus for this quote even though I really don’t even know Roth beyond “Plot Against America.” It’s his terms: patriotism, loving & hating America, and death at least saving Roth from more of the torment of living in DT’s America. (Deep sigh.) And should you “admin” having anything to do w/ that heading, “THE COMPLEXITIES OF LOVING ONE’S SOMETIMES HATEFUL COUNTRY,” as some kids I know like to say it pops.
