So did they meet? What happened? My fave anecdote about Kael is the one about how you always knew where she stood on a film, often before she ever got out of the movie theater. Bigger than life; J.J. Hunsecker in Sweet Smell of Success. The overwriting dis in Greil’s original review seems characteristic of a lot of NY-er writing over the years.
