Quick note to say there have been weird issues with site comments. Two readers I’m aware of have not been able to post comments, despite the fact that almost all comments restrictions have been removed behind the scenes. From what I can gather, one needs to have a WordPress account to successfully post a comment. (It’s merely the latest in my ever-increasing frustrations with WordPress.) I’ll resist for now shutting the comments down entirely, but I suggest that if you wish to post a comment: a) make a copy for yourself before submitting it; b) if it doesn’t go through, consider sending it anyway via ‘Ask Greil,’ which can also be used as venue for feedback, even if not framed in the form of a question.
